  • Tokyo Design Week According to Jean Snow

How’s that for a post title? Quite a few of you have been emailing me asking for tips, suggestions, and recommendations regarding the upcoming Tokyo Design Week (November 1-5, for the most part) — you know, that big-ass celebration of design that brings together the combined forces of Tokyo Designer’s Week, 100% Design Tokyo, Design…

  • Retired Weapons Calendar 2007

Again this year, the Retired Weapons project is producing a beautiful calendar that includes the sort of imagery you’d expect to see from them. These are made-to-order, and the deadline for orders is November 25, with the calendar itself selling for 3000 yen.

I want my LUMINES LIVE! I even picked up some Microsoft Points from the combini earlier in the week…

  • Ian Lynam Site Update

Tokyo-based graphic designer Ian Lynam has revamped his site — plenty of lovely things to peruse. Also, if you weren’t aware, he’s been contributing regularly to PingMag over the past year, his latest piece being on the graffiti zine LOST, and the LA graffiti scene in general.

  • New Metal Death Vol. 1

Even more gig news for tonight, this time from my man Takashi, Mr. Tokyo Fun Party himself. He says that the Electric Eel Shock, “probably THE best heavy metal band of our ear,” are playing, and that it’s very rare for them to play in Japan. Catch the gig at Zher The Zoo in Yoyogi…
