Month: November 2008

  • Shinkansen & Love

Something I spotted a few weeks ago (forgot to post it): Shinkansen & Love, a fashion magazine themed on the Shinkansen. Basically, fashions to ride the Shinkansen in. It’s actually well photographed, and is from Infas (Studio Voice).

  • PauseTalk Tonight

Today’s the first Monday of November, and that means it’s time for another monthly edition of PauseTalk (Vol. 26) at Cafe Pause. As always, start time is 20:00. Hope that Tokyo Design Week fatigue won’t stop you from coming! Update: Just want to thank everyone for coming! I’ll post the list of participants before the…

  • Earthy Flowers, Heavenly Colors

A few photos from last Friday’s opening for Mika Ninagawa‘s new “Earthly Flowers, Heavenly Colors” exhibition, which opened on Saturday at the Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery. It’s a great show, and I definitely recommend everyone go see it. Below, the artist herself, posing in my favorite room while the show was still in preparation.

Still trying to figure out what to do and see during Tokyo Design Week? PingMag as you covered, first with a look at the main events, and then with a handy party planner.

In case you missed it, a few excerpts from Arcade Mania appeared in last week’s issue of Metropolis (760), and can be read online here. As previously mentioned, the book is already out in Japan, and can be ordered from a few places (you’ll find links on the book’s official site). The same edition comes…

  • Audrey and Cornelius

Audrey and Cornelius at the United Bamboo party, with Cornelius looking much happier than he did when he posed with me — the company was better, I guess.

  • Tall/Short

Either I’m really short, or Marxy is really tall (actually, it’s both). Photo taken at last Wednesday’s United Bamboo party (thanks, Marie). Bonus game: spot the PMKFA.

  • Jesper Is PKN

I feel really bad — I had to miss Jesper‘s PechaKucha Night presentation last night because of all the design events/parties happening. It does look like he had the party going on.
