Nintendo DS Kiosks

Nintendo decides to take on the PlayStationSpots head-on!

Nintendo has allowed Japanese DS owners to download demo games at specially marked kiosks in the past for preview before buying. Well now the company will allow everybody to demo up to 30 games including Mario Kart DS at new DS demo kiosks that feature a playable system.

Dubbed “Touch! Try! DS,” the new service will be in full force December 15. For a list of featured games, click here. (Joystiq)

PSP Madness Continues

Just a heads-up to those who could be interested: we’re meeting again today (Saturday) at 17:00 for some wireless PSP action at Cafe Pause. GTA will of course be on the menu, but we’ll also be playing some RIDGE RACERS and WIPEOUT. So if you a PSP and one of these games and want to join in the fun, come along!

Update: Apologies, but I have to cancel the PSP date. We’ll plan another one soon enough though.

Itchin' for Some Killin'

I got a Christmas present from my parents a bit early this year, when yesterday’s mail revealed a box with a bunch of goodies. Included was the EPISODE III DVD, a bunch of BDs (the latest albums in the Astérix, Spirou, and Yoko Tsuno series), and… GRAND THEFT AUTO: LIBERTY CITY STORIES for the PSP! Man, I cannot stop playing this, and I’m absolutely itchin’ to try some of the new multiplayer modes. So if you’re in Tokyo and you imported the game, let me know.

Xbox 360 Kiosks at Adidas Stores

According to Kotaku, Adidas stores in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka are going to be rolling out Xbox 360 kiosks this weekend that let you try out FIFA 2006. There’s a big one in Ikebukuro, so I’ll try and have a look — and this reminds me that I still haven’t posted all the pics I took of the Xbox 360 Lounge in Aoyama from 2 weeks ago, which I’ll try to do this weekend.

DS on a Strap

Are theses little gacha-gacha mini-DSes great or what? Need to get one, now! Found on Kotaku.

Oh, and am I the only person who is completely obsessed with SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS? Quite possibly THE game of the year, and certainly a worthy follow-up to ICO, another game I was quite obsessed with.

Update (16/09/04): The image is no longer available.

PlayStation Spot Bus

Sony is turning their PlayStation Spot idea into a mobile event, so you’ll get even more of a chance to try out some new PSP games. Of course, you can also just go to the Sony Building in Ginza and do the same thing, like I did this past weekend.

The bus schedule is here, and do make sure to try out LOCO ROCO!
