Nintendo x Uniqlo UT

Uniqlo has revealed its terrific lineup of 25 Nintendo-themed tees — going on sale May 19 — and I’m pretty frustrated because there’s so many I’d like to get, but I don’t yet know how I’ll get my hands on them.

New Galak-Z T-Shirt

My buddy Jake Kazdal runs his 17-BIT┬ástudio from Kyoto, and the latest game they launched was the fantastically fun shooter Galak-Z: The Dimensional (out on PC and PS4, with a mobile version on the horizon). I love this new Galak-Z t-shirt that just launched on Fangamer — you can bet I’ll be adding it to my growing collection of 17-BIT tees, that includes the one with the 17-BIT logo, and one for the studio’s first game, the excellent Skulls of the Shogun (released when the studio was called Haunted Temple Studios).

Neo Tokyo 2020

When it was announced that the Olympics were going to be held in Tokyo in 2020, it didn’t take long for references to Katsuhiro Otomo’s Akira to pop up, considering that’s exactly what was predicted to happen in the series (published in the 80s). Here’s a beautiful graphic treatment by Javier Gonz├ílez Delgado, inspired by Akira. I’d wear that as a tee.

Portraits from PauseTalk Vol. 36

I’ll have the list of participants from last night’s PauseTalk (Vol. 36) up later today or tomorrow, but in the meantime I wanted to share the latest round of portraits taken by Max Hodges, which are all viewable in this gallery. As with last time, I’m really loving these, and I’m hoping that Max keeps doing them, and then maybe culminate in some sort of exhibition to celebrate the fourth anniversary of PauseTalk next year. Max is also talking about compiling PDF books of the shots, which I think is a great idea.

And in case you’re wondering, the t-shirt I’m wearing is Gelman‘s “Sorry I’m Late!” tee he did for Uniqlo a couple of years back.
