Happening in Tokyo

  • Catch a talk by Yoshiyuki Tomino — director of the first Gundam anime series, and a few of its sequels and spinoffs — at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club Japan tomorrow (July 7) from 12:00 to 14:00 (for the lunch plate, please reserve in advance, but you can show up at 12:30 when the meal is finished). The entire session, including the Q&A, will be in Japanese with English interpretation.
  • The “Fare for Fair” event for Palestinian refugee awareness by Global Lives happens this Friday (July 10) at The Pink Cow — a middle Eastern buffet will be served from 18:30 (3,000 yen), or you can head for just the live entertainment (including multimedia works and a preview of a new documentary) at 21:30 (minimum donation of 500 yen).
  • The “Beau-ti-fied Ta-boo” multimedia art exhibition — featuring works by 13 artists — happens this Thursday (July 9, 1,300 yen at the door) at SuperDeluxe, from 18:30 to 24:00.
