PauseTalk Vol. 97 took place this past Thursday, July 24 at Bananafish Books – our regular venue – and I’d say it was one of the most lively editions this year due to the many participants. Lots was discussed, as usual, but a good portion was taken up by talk of AI – AI in films, AICG as its own art form, AI in everyday life, etc. It’s a topic that constantly creeps up no matter what I’m involved in (it often pops up in presentations at our PechaKucha Nights as well, even if that’s not the main topic of a presentation). But as always, we touched on many things, including the state of wine in the city/country – as I poured my usual glass of wine – and some recommendations on what to take in for the rest of the summer in and around Shanghai. Oh, and Xenia showed us her awesome boots.
Below, the list of participants:
- Bora (ILM Therapy, Marketing, Tourism)
- Candy (Trade Assistant)
- Carlos Avalos (Car Designer)
- Dorothy Foo (Filmmaker)
- Eileen Zhu (Chinese Medicine Doctor)
- Estrella (UI/UX, Graphic Designer)
- Ilya Ukkonen (UI/UX, PM Digital)
- Jean Snow (Game Developer)
- Olga (Marketing & Communications)
- Tessie Wang (Winery Operation Analyst)
- Wessel Deurwaarder (Product Designer)
- Xenia Sidorenko (Upcyclist UseDem)
What’s next? Although I’ve been doing these on a bi-monthly basis of late, I’m looking to do the next one (Vol. 98) at the end of August (to be confirmed later) – that would probably mean Vol. 99 in October, and then what I hope will be a special edition Vol. 100 in December, to end the year. To stay updated, join the PauseTalk group in WeChat (contact me to be added).
