My good friend Patrick, he who provides us with great deals on Japanese music with his Tokyo Record Hunting Service, has just launched his own blog. Being the music freak that is, I imagine it will be a good place for news on album releases and events regarding the Shibuya-kei scene and what has come out of it.
If you were trying to visit the site earlier today and found that it wasn’t there, well it seems that I reached the max of my allowed bandwidth capacity. Things quickly recovered as it happened on the last day of the month, so it just took a few hours for the 1st to come and bring things back to 0. Although it could have meant paying for some more bandwidth, it is quite nice to see that the site is really getting a lot of traffic. I haven’t mentioned it here, but the site has gone through big jumps in traffic, and has now been steady for 3-4 months. I am very happy that so many of you find it worth your time to drop by often, and hope that I can continue to entertain and inform in the same manner for some time to come.
Tonight there was a new Lupin the 3rd TV movie on NTV, and the closing theme was by Kahimi Karie. I only watched it on and off, but Yuko said it was pretty good. The Kahimi song was not bad, but nothing very different from what we’re now used to getting from her.
A mini Korean film festival is coming at the end of August at Sogetsu Hall in Akasaka, and the good news is that the new films will be screened with English subtitles. Here’s the schedule:
