You all picked up Simogo’s The Sailor’s Dream when it came out for iOS, right? Right? Again, just a fantastic game, and one that shows how interesting a gaming experience you can create on iOS. I played it on iPad, which I think is best for really taking in the visuals – although it does…

I haven’t been keeping up with all of my game playing and TV/movie watching over the past month on this consumption diary, so will be playing catch up over the coming days. I was so happy to get the new levels for Monument Valley, and they are just as good as everything we got in…

This is such a fantastically wonderful series, I can’t recommend it enough. I’m not done watching all of the episodes yet – it’s a 10-episode mini-series, and each episode is pretty short – but I already know that it’s going to be something I’ll continue to enjoy for a long time to come. I really…

  • Guardians of the Galaxy

I finally got around to watching Guardians of the Galaxy recently, and I did find it to be a pretty fun movie. I do take issue with people who were describing it as the second coming of sci-fi – it’s not that – but I did have a really good time watching it, enjoying the…

This has got to be the weirdest movie I’ve seen in a while. Wow. It’s just all over the place, from wacky to cringing “Canadian” humour to abject horror that, at moments, leaves you creeped out to no end. I’m just glad Kevin Smith is left to do stuff like this, whether it’s good or…

I finally got around to playing the last 2 episodes of this series this week, both in one sitting, and wow, what a great end to what ended up being my favorite Telltale game so far. The reason I took so long to get to the end is that I think I finally got burnt…

  • Ronia the Robber’s Daughter

    ,

This is turning into a fantastic series. Produced by Ghibli and directed by Goro Miyazaki (Hayao’s son), you definitely feel the the Ghibli pedigree as you watch it – especially in the pacing – and although the cell shaded CG animation did feel a bit weird to me at first, I quite enjoy it now.…

  • Parasyte

The trailer for the anime adaptation of the manga series Parasyte got me interested in checking it out, and one episode in, I’m definitely interested in watching more. It borders on the grotesque, but the mystery of why this is happening to this boy (his hand comes alive, and this sentience is also happening in…
