Koinobori
The koinobori, which you see floating in the wind, are used to celebrate boys day (May 5th). The picture was taken in Koma, where we spent the afternoon yesterday walking around and enjoying the open air. The next few days of pics will be from that outing.

Squirrel Curry
The sign in the middle has “risucaree” written on it, which translates to “squirrel curry.” Not really sure what this is about, but it could be some kind of brand name, as I’m pretty sure that nobody in Japan eats squirrel.

Yuko studying very hard. What you see near the bottom of the picture is her new pride and joy, an electronic Chinese-Japanese-English dictionary. She got a nice communist red cover for it.

New McDonald’s
I was walking around Ikebukuro on Saturday and noticed that one of the McDonald’s in the area was closed for renewal (re-opens May 5th). I took a picture of the poster in front that showed the new design. Sort of looks like a 50s sci-fi design, something that you would see on the JETSONS. McDonald’s…
