Being Tokyo

Being Tokyo (@beingtokyo) is a #rocur (“rotation curation”) Twitter account that sees a different person based in Tokyo take over each week to share their personal take on the city, and this week it’s my buddy Gueorgui who has taken control, until October 4.

Print of Shibuya Station

Not long ago I mentioned the release of Gueorgui‘s Turbulence zine, and now he’s offering one of the photos featured inside (of Shibuya Station, pictured) as its own separate A2/A3/A4-sized print. Available in limited quantities, you can order one online here.

My first reaction when I saw the beautiful new site Tokyo Soup was that, hey, this is what I’ve been trying to do my entire life, but done better. At least on a visual level. Created by Tokyo-based art director Michele Angeloro, it’s a beautiful curated guide to the best that Tokyo has to offer in terms of art and design, presented in a slick and image-heavy package. Definitely something to follow if you’re on the lookout for delicious Tokyo eye candy. Hat tip to my buddy Gueorgui, whose Turbulence zine you should pick up.

My friend Gueorgui Tcherednitchenko has just produced his first zine, Turbulence, that collects some of his black & white Tokyo photography. It’s a nice little print object, and I’m definitely a fan of what he’s been shooting over the past year or two (following him on Instagram) — in fact, the avatar of me you see in this post (and at my social media accounts) was taken by him. You can order a copy here.
