Rayman Legends

Another game I’m buying for the second time thanks to that PSN E3 sale is Rayman Legends on PS4 (I had previously bought it for Vita). I absolutely loved this game on Vita (and loved Rayman Origins too) and so I figured that at the price they had it for ($16), it was worth revisiting on PS4. I’ve started playing and, wow, as good as this looked on Vita, it’s just outstanding on PS4 and on a TV screen. This is such a great game, and I’m still excited to be playing through the levels again.

Rayman Fiesta Run

I really liked Rayman Jungle Run – which I think is the most successfully executed platformer on iOS – and I finally got around to playing the sequel, Rayman Fiesta Run (it was on sale for a buck last week), and it’s just as fun, and looks maybe even better. Doing it as a non-stop runner is really the way to do a game like this, and the simple jump and punch controls, by hitting the sides of the screen, work perfectly. Sure, it’s not better than Rayman Origins or Legends, but it’s not supposed to be. It’s a great way to play a Rayman game – with the fantastic art direction you’d expect from the series – on touch devices.

Rayman Legends

Picked this up for Vita last week because it was on sale on the PSN Store – and I think I may have access to the PS3 version as well. So damn good. If you like Rayman Origins, then it’s just more of that, but looking even better – believe it or not – and with fun new gameplay gimmicks like levels where you don’t really control the character but rather touch the screen to interact with elements of the level. Oh, and did I mention how good this game looks? Truly like playing a living cartoon, looks absolutely stunning on the Vita screen.
