  • Insight Guides: Korea

I wanted to pick up a guide for the weekend trip, and ended up getting the Insight Guides‘ Korea book. I tend to be a visual person, and find the Lonely Planet guides to be utterly dull. The Insight Guides are completely in color, and have quite few pictures on every page. Sure, it makes…

  • Agitator

Fans of Japanese film director Takashi Miike (like me) will definitely want to check out the new book AGITATOR – THE CINEMA OF TAKASHI MIIKE by Tom Mes, who writes for the excellent Japanese film review site Midnight Eye. The above link leads to a special feature on the book, with lots of samples, as…

  • Construction

There’s lots of contruction work taking place in the Harajuku/Aoyama area right now. It’s good that they’re being creative about it (like with the LINK LINK photo exhibit), but it still makes for quite a few eye sores as you walk up and down Omotesando dori.

  • The 20th Century Voyage

I just installed THE 20TH CENTURY VOYAGE screen saver by Futurismo Zugakousaku, which is absolutely gorgeous. Got the link from Antipixel. Oh, and it’s for Mac OS X only, so get a Mac why don’t you.

  • Gothic Lolitas

Curious to find out more about the Gothic Lolitas you tend to see on Sundays near Harajuku station? Check out pages from the Lolita Bibles, and lots of pics.

  • The Matrix in Tokyo

Here are some good pics by Juergen Specht of all THE MATRIX RELOADED happenings taking place in Tokyo of late. Basically, you have an incredible number of fans that meet up in public areas, all dressed as Agent Smith, and then act out scenes from the movie.

  • Model

I forgot to mention that yesterday, after meeting up with Lil and Nadine, I went to the Aoyama Book Center, where I picked up the latest issue of MINIMIX (it’s also a great place to pick up back issues). As I was walking back to Omotesando station, I stopped for a moment to answer an…

  • Link Link

The Link Link outdoor photo exhibit taking place in Aoyama in front of the big construction work taking place along Omotesando dori. Great idea.

  • Digital Shoplifting

Japanese magazines want digital shoplifting to stop.

  • Seoul

It’s official, we finally reserved our tickets today for a weekend trip this week to Seoul. We got a really good deal. Sure, the schedule is rather wacky, but it suits my schedule (with my job, I’m not allowed to take days off when I choose, and in return they give us over 2 months…
