Dead or Alive

B000066CX0.02.MZZZZZZZAnd last night I brought my DEAD OR ALIVE reverse tour to a close by watching the first one. Let me start off by saying that opening and closing sequences, well, they’re worth the price of admission alone. The film starts off with a bang (or multiple bangs) and ends with the ultimate one. The rest of the film, although interesting, was a bit low key, and not what I was expecting (sort of like for the second one). We again follow the two main characters (Sho Aikawa and Riki Takeuchi) in another incarnation, and this time as cop versus gangster. It’s difficult to rank these films in order of preference, as they are all so different, but I can say that they each bring something to the series, and that you really need to see all 3.
