Rise X

I quickly mentioned the new Rise X theatre the other day, but here’s a bit more info from REALTOKYO.

On Saturday, July 10, Shibuya witnessed the birth of another unique alternative theatre: XIANG’S B., the bar in the basement of Cinema Rise, reincarnated as RISE X, a mini theatre specializing in digital film. Director Oku Shutaro, director of the opening screening “AKA-SEN”, starring Nakamura Shido, oversaw the installation of the theatre’s projection and acoustical equipment. Watching a “Showa love story” in comfy, French seats in the luxury of a 40-seat theatre space is a savory experience. I’m thrilled with anticipation of Tokyo culture becoming more diversified and interesting.
