This Week in Magazines

  • CASA BRUTUS (78) takes on “Traditional Japanese Architecture and Design,” with a fantastic look at all the basics of traditional craftsmanship. Ever better is the fact that it’s one of their bilingual issues — meaning the cover feature gets translated in English — and they’ve really gone all out on creating a very attractive layout for the English section. The issue also includes two inserts, one a guide to traditional Japanese dining options, the other, a bilingual guide to architecture in Kyoto.
  • This month’s IDEA (318) covers the works of Edward Fella, and includes an interview with DOT DOT DOT magazine.
  • A new issue of +81 is out (33), with the theme “The Creators’ Network,” meaning they cover certain design units as well as their collaborators. As always, IDEA and +81 are both entirely bilingual.
