Robocop

Let’s start by saying that this is nowhere as good as the original film, and its biggest fault is that it ignores what made the original so genius and fun: the extremely dark comedy that made it feel like satire more than just your average sci-fi action flick. But looking at this new version as its own thing, there are things to like, from the action sequences to the way it handles the “humanity” of Murphy as he is cyborged up – I think it handles it better than in the original. But I don’t understand why they didn’t play up the dark comedy of the original more, and the ending makes absolutely no sense.
