Let It Die

This surprised me. I didn’t know much about it ahead of its release this past weekend, but was definitely excited to give it a try, since I’ve enjoyed a lot of Suda51 games in the past. At first I was really digging the general style of the game and world setup, but then all of the free-to-play energy mechanics explanations started bumming me out – I’ll pay to unlock stuff in a game, but I’ll never pay for energy in a game. Despite that, I put in a bit of time playing it – you try to make yourself up a tower, killing dudes along the way, die, rinse and repeat – and found myself starting to get addicted. The other night, I put in a good 2-3 hours, even though I was dying fairly regularly, but slowly managed to get further and further up. It remains to be seen how long I’ll last – if it starts feeling impossible to get further ahead, I’ll be dropping off – but for now I’m having a lot of fun with it.
