My weekly Tokyo post for MoCo Loco is up, this time covering Shunsuke Terata’s Detect mirror (above), Isolation Unit‘s Shifting Vase, and the upcoming Tokujin Yoshioka-curated Cartier exhibition.

The publication created for last December’s “Death by Basel” exhibition can now be purchased online. Same goes for the OK Fred collaboration.
Appliya Update
Not too long ago I posted about a new Tokyo-based iPhone app developer called Appliya. They’ve released quite a few apps since then — including an interactive photo book and a Ghost Camera — but more interesting is that they have announced tie-ups with anime and manga properties to yield future apps. This press release doesn’t reveal what we’ll be getting, but something to maybe look forward to.
Tokyo Art Maps
Over at the AQ blog, Paul — yes, Mr. TAB — takes a look at a few art maps for Tokyo, which you can view in a very nice full-screen slideshow. Even better, it’s first in a series. Reminds me that I have to give him the Hong Kong art map I picked up for him when I was there last month.
Things are heating up for the 2009 edition of the 101TOKYO art fair, and the latest news to come out is the list of participating galleries. Pictured above, Akiba Square, the venue for this year’s edition.
Knee High Interviewed
Tramnesia posts a video interview with Lucas Badtke-Berkow and Kaori Sakurai, who run Knee High Media (Paper Sky, Mammoth, Planted). It’s part of a “Working” series on small-business owners.
