  • Terence Conran

DAILY YOMIURI article based on a lecture given by English designer Terrence Conran in Roppongi Hills last week. I’m just surprised that Habitat, the lifestyle store chain started by him, has yet to open any shops in Tokyo.

  • TAB and Reactivity

This weekend is your last chance to catch the “Reactivity” exhibition at the ICC (and it’s a good one, according to Toe). Print out this page from Tokyo Art Beat and you can get a discount. I plan on going today or tomorrow.

  • TDB Chalkboard

As part of the TDB event, there were a few installations at Parking 246, a temporary showplace where the Kinokuniya grocery store used to be. These pics were taken in a tent for an office furniture brand. Anyone could pick up some chalk and leave a message. Shots taken with the AU W21S mobile phone.

  • De Fyra

A couple of shots of designs from De Fyra at the Idee shop in Aoyama. Shots taken with the AU W21S mobile phone. Update: This entry has been edited as I made the mistake of attributing the designs to Syjuntan.

  • More TDB by Toe

Toe has another group of TDB pics up.

  • Shift 095

The new issue of online magazine SHIFT (95) is up. It features a cover and interview by Anekawa Taku.

  • Design Versus Rain

Even with the rain (I was still shivering from being soaked this morning when I woke up), last night ended up being lots of fun. I met up with Jesper in Shibuya after work, and we walked to Daikanyama, stopping at a few places along the way. We first stopped at Collex Speakfor and Gallery…

  • TAB Is My Guide

I am so thankful for the launch of Tokyo Art Beat. I’m using it pretty much exclusively to plan the things I want to check out during Designer’s Week, Designers Block, and Swedish Style. Here are some notes I took this morning (and everything listed here is free, except the “Container Ground” in Odaiba that…

  • Machine=Eros Project

As part of Designer’s Week 2004, EX’Realm is hosting the “Machine=Eros Project” by Yamaha. The name Yamaha stands for both musical equipment (Yamaha Corporation) and motorbikes and boats (Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd.). The first project to take place at the renewed Ex’ Realm in Harajuku is hosted by both companies, and features performances by Ujino…
