  • Logos Gallery Book Bazar

The Logos Gallery, in the basement of Shibuya’s Parco Part 2, is having a big foreign book bazar, with discounts going from 20 to 80% off. The sale ends January 11. They usually have a lot of their design books on sale during these, so good time to grab those really expensive ones. Link via…

  • Kyoshu Nostalgia

Today marks the release of Marxy‘s debut album, KYOSHU NOSTALGIA, from Beekeeper Records (and you can buy the album directly from them). I’ve been listening to this album for a while now, and love it to death. A beautiful ode to pop, you’ll find yourself listening to it over and over again.

  • Naoki Urasawa Interview

I make no secret of being a huge fan of mangaka Naoki Urasawa — the currently airing animated MONSTER is my favorite series on TV, and his 20TH CENTURY BOYS is my favorite manga (I can’t believe they haven’t animated that one yet). The site Comic Book Galaxy has posted a long article on him,…

  • Radio OK Fred is Back!

Seems like the OK Fred site is back up, so you should now have access to the second Radio OK Fred show again. And like last time, you can email me if you want a copy of the playlist.

  • The Matsumoto Performing Arts Center

Have a look at these pics of the Ito Toyo designed Matumoto Performing Arts Center. Link via Dezain.net.

  • Matsuya Ginza

The Matsuya department store in Ginza.

  • Radio OK Fred 02

Our second show of Radio OK Fred is now up. This one was done live, which was a lot more fun to do (and it explains why it’s maybe not as slick as the first one). You can also subscribe to a podcast feed (there was a problem with the feed earlier, but it should…

  • Weirdness

I don’t know what’s going on, but everything I posted in the last couple of days has disappeared. Still trying to figure out what happened. Update: I’m going to repost most of those entries, which luckily I found using Google’s cache.

  • Happy 2005!

Comedian Okamura Takashi (pictured above) of the comedy duo 99 celebrates the new year with his choir of daruma painted derrieres.

  • Kamada Takashi

Another stunning photography site to have a look at: Kamada Takashi’s Ashi.Ato photolog. I absolutely love the way the site is set up, with each entry featuring full-screen (well, full-browser) pics. Link via Newstoday. Update: The site is actually part of the Fotologue community site. Prepare to waste away quite a few hours…
